You can spend countless hours crafting the perfect blog post, but it’s not going to yield any tangible results in people actually see it. This is why you should promote your blog posts after publishing them. Doing so will drive traffic to them, increasing your posts’ visibility and hopefully generating new conversions and/or sales in the process.
One of the first things you should do after publishing a new blog post is to share the link on your social media profiles. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other networks for which you have accounts. Assuming you have a strong following, sharing links to your new blog posts can drive tons of new visitors to them. If you don’t have many followers, sharing links may still offer some value, so don’t overlook this technique.
Link to Other Websites
How can posting links to other websites within your posts prove beneficial? Well, when you link to another website, the webmaster may return the favor by linking to your blog. You can even send them an email, letting them know that you’ve posted a link to their website. As long as the other site isn’t a direct competitor, this will most certainly help to promote your blog posts.
Scoop.it
A lesser-known technique for promoting blog posts is to share your content on Scoop.it. Once you’ve signed up for a free membership, search for a keyword that’s related to your niche. You can then scroll through some of the most popular pages, suggesting your content to be added. Scoop.it is a syndication website, so your content will be shared with other users. If you are unwilling to have your blog’s content shared elsewhere, you may want to skip this service.
Use @Mentions
When using Twitter to promote your blog and blog posts, be sure to include relevant @mentions. Prefixing a Twitter user’s name with the @ symbol will allow your tweet to be displayed in his or her account. So anyone looking at that user’s account will also see your tweet. As long as your tweet contains a link to your new blog post, this can drive more traffic to it.
Search Forums
If you recently published a helpful blog post or how-to article, why not guide forum members to it? To do this, search for forums that are related to your niche, and then search for recent threads about your new post or article topic. You can then advise the original poster to check out the URL of your new blog post for more information on the subject. As long as your messages are constructive and helpful (not spam), they should be approved by the moderator. If they come off as being overly salesy, however, they may get flagged as being spam.

Very helpful info. I’ve shared on social media and used links, but some of these other recommendations are new for me. I ran across this post looking for new ideas and am walking away with just what I needed.
I haven’t tried ScoopIt, but am interested to see its results on promoting my blog. Thanks!
Facebook, MailChimp, GooglePlus and Twitter have been the best promotional tools for me. My recommendation is to always provide entertaining or useful information and to remember to ASK your followers to share your posts.
